Use this general checklist alongside the instructions from your administering department. Department instructions take priority.
Device checklist
Use the required device
Use a supported desktop or laptop with an adequate screen size unless your department says otherwise.
Connect power and internet
Plug in the device and use a stable internet connection.
Check required media
Confirm the camera, microphone, speakers, or permitted headphones work when required.
Review display rules
Disconnect additional displays if your department's instructions require it.
Environment checklist
Choose a quiet, private location
Reduce interruptions and keep unauthorized people out of the room.
Set up clear lighting
Position the camera so your face is visible when camera use is required.
Remove prohibited material
Put away unauthorized notes, devices, phones, and reference material.
Limit distractions
Use a simple background and close unrelated applications.

Allow camera access
Grant browser camera permission if the assessment requires video.
Allow microphone access
Grant browser microphone permission if spoken responses are required.
Check media permissions
Allow any browser media or pop-up behavior specifically identified by the assessment instructions.
Reduce notifications
Disable avoidable alerts that could interrupt the session.
